The award-winning producer, who has consistently been a key player in the African music scene, recently appeared on a viral list of the continent’s DJs with the highest monthly Spotify listeners.

Shimza landed at No. 4 with 2.8 million monthly listeners, putting him ahead of other big names like Black Coffee, Tyler ICU, Spinall, and Major League DJz.

While the list was widely celebrated, some social media users couldn’t resist poking fun at Shimza, claiming they didn’t know any of his songs.

True to his unbothered style, the DJ responded with a hilarious meme captioned, “We don’t even know Shimza’s Music,” poking fun at the trolls.

Fans and critics quickly joined the conversation.

One user admitted, “And to be quite honest I don’t know a single song from you,” while another shared a laughing meme saying, “Mina I’ll be honest bhuti, I’ve never heard ngisho neyodwa ingoma yakho.”
