Anele Mdoda’s 947 breakfast show wins big at the Radio Awards
Popular radio host Anele Mdoda is celebrating another major milestone after her breakfast show, Anele and the Club on 947, walked away with three trophies at the Radio Awards.
The wins include Best Breakfast Show, Commercial, a title the show has reportedly held for five consecutive years.
Anele took to social media to share her excitement, expressing how much the recognition means to her and the entire team behind the award-winning show.
“This means the world to me and the team,” she wrote, adding that she would “go to war” for the people she works with, but even more importantly, she would fight for their peace. Anele went on to thank her on-air colleagues Frankie, Cindy, Thembekile, Ryan, Gavin and Mpho, saying they make waking up at 4:30 a.m. “so easy.”
The radio personality also extended her gratitude to the loyal listeners who tune in religiously every morning, joking that some even “threaten to switch off our water supply when we don’t update the podcasts.”
Anele further acknowledged the Primedia management team for keeping the show sharp, consistent and world-class, noting that working under them leaves no room for complacency.
She reserved a special tribute for the behind-the-scenes crew, Ryan, Mpho, Gavin and Thato, crediting them as the “engine to the best breakfast show in the land” and dedicating the award to them.
Closing her message, Anele gave thanks to God for the continued success of the show.
