Nicki Minaj reportedly banned from 2026 Met Gala
Trinidadian singer and rapper Nicki Minaj is once again at the centre of online controversy after reports claimed she has been uninvited from the 2026 Met Gala.
The drama reportedly unfolded on Christmas Day, when Roc Nation is said to have issued Minaj with a cease-and-desist order.
According to reports citing California court filings, the notice allegedly bars the rapper from mentioning Jay-Z, Beyoncé or Roc Nation, warning that any violation could result in financial legal action.
Soon after the news surfaced, claims began circulating online that Minaj would no longer be welcome at the prestigious fashion event scheduled to take place in May 2026.
The Met Gala, one of the world’s most high-profile fashion gatherings, is expected to be co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and long-time Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
A post shared online alleged: “Nicki Minaj has officially been uninvited to the 2026 Met Gala co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour on Monday, May 4, following the newly granted cease and desist courtesy of Roc Nation this Christmas. She is banned from attending the ceremony.”
The reports suggest that the alleged ban is linked to Minaj’s ongoing feud with Roc Nation boss Jay-Z, who is also Beyoncé’s husband.
While no official confirmation has been issued by Met Gala organisers, the claims have sparked widespread reactions on social media.
