‘Amapiano uplifted women’: Prince Kaybee hits back at Nigerian singer Fave

Prince Kaybee clashes with Fave over gender support debate in music industry

Prince Kaybee has weighed in on a conversation sparked by Nigerian singer Fave about women supporting one another.

The discussion began after Fave tweeted about the lack of respect women face, arguing that women should prioritise lifting one another because men naturally support fellow men, even when women are more deserving.

Her statement quickly gained traction, resonating with many users who echoed frustrations about gender inequality in creative spaces.

Prince Kaybee, however, pushed back strongly against the sentiment, using Amapiano as an example to challenge the idea that women are sidelined by men in the industry.

Reacting to Fave’s tweet, the producer dismissed what he described as gender-driven narratives.

“Lol Amapiano is a MAN made musical phenomenon, it has uplifted more women than any other woman has EVER TRIED,” he wrote, adding that the genre has created opportunities for women across various roles, including vocalists, makeup artists, managers and road managers.

He concluded his response with a blunt call to “STOP GENDER POLITICS!!!”

Interestingly, Fave had earlier shared a more collaborative message, encouraging women to connect with her directly.

In that tweet, she acknowledged her own ongoing journey but expressed a desire to actively support other women despite not yet being where she hopes to be.

“Life is short! I’m opening my DMs for y’all specifically. My women. I will put you on,” she wrote, inviting women to share their businesses, fashion brands and talents with her.
