Nomzamo Mbatha speaks against Snenhlanhla’s abuse
South African actress and activist Nomzamo Mbatha has taken to social media to draw attention to the plight of Durban-based hairstylist Snenhlanhla Mthembu, who is reportedly in intensive care following injuries sustained during an alleged domestic abuse incident.
In a series of Instagram posts, Nomzamo expressed outrage and concern for Snenhlanhla’s wellbeing.
“My blood is boiling. My heart is broken. And I am LIVID,” she wrote, adding that Snenhlanhla is currently in ICU with burn wounds on her face and body, which she reportedly suffered while attempting to free herself from her alleged abuser.
Nomzamo described the hairstylist, who she refers to as “like my baby sister,” as having silently endured months of domestic violence.
She urged authorities to intervene, calling on the South African Police Service to take immediate action.
“We need the POLICE to ACT NOW!!! ARREST HIM IMMEDIATELY. JAIL AND JUSTICE,” Nomzamo wrote, also encouraging her followers to tag the police and apply public pressure.
The post has since drawn widespread attention online, sparking conversations about domestic violence, the need for urgent intervention, and support for survivors.
