SA rapper 25K
Pretoria-born rapper 25K The Plug is celebrating a major digital milestone after surpassing 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, officially qualifying for the platform’s Silver Play Button.
The hip-hop artist, whose real name is Lehlohonolo Molefe, shared a photo proudly holding the sleek plaque engraved with the words: “Presented to 25K THE PLUG For passing 100,000 subscribers.”
The award marks a significant step in his steady climb from local street acclaim to broader streaming success.
Now sitting at over 102,000 subscribers, 25K’s growth reflects not only his expanding fanbase but also the increasing global appetite for South African hip hop.
Known to supporters as the “Plug’s Favourite Plug,” he has built an identity rooted in authenticity, hustle culture and unfiltered storytelling.
His catalogue backs up the momentum; tracks such as Trap Jumpin’ have racked up more than 3.4 million views, while I Was Broke, featuring Earle Fari and Berry Jive, further cemented his reputation as a voice for ambition and resilience.
Through gritty lyricism and reflective bars, he has consistently narrated the realities of grinding toward success.
Speaking recently on the podcast The Element with Queen Azizzar, 25K reflected on what keeps him grounded despite the accolades.
“It’s about staying loyal to the plug—myself, my roots, and my fans,” he said, a statement that echoes the themes explored in his project Loyal To The Plug.
