Dr Khehlelezi arrested for alleged 171 km/h speeding on N2

South African traditional healer and reality TV personality Dr Khehlelezi was arrested after allegedly being caught driving far above the speed limit on the N2 near Park Rynie in southern KwaZulu-Natal.
The sangoma, whose real name is Bhongolwethu Mzozo, was stopped by police on Tuesday, 3 March, after officers reportedly detected that he was travelling at 171 km/h in a zone restricted to 120 km/h.
According to a report by Daily Sun, authorities attempted to pull him over but say the situation escalated when he allegedly tried to evade arrest.
Police reportedly called for backup from additional law-enforcement units before managing to apprehend him.
He was then taken into custody and a case of speeding was opened.
Following the incident, Dr Khehlelezi disputed parts of the allegations against him.
While acknowledging that a speeding case has been opened, he insisted that the speed cited by police was exaggerated.
He said the claims about how fast he was travelling were not accurate and hinted that there was “a reason” he had been speeding at the time.
