Emtee breaks down on Instagram live over R700K royalty loss and personal struggles

Emtee breaks down in tears during a recent live stream
South African hip-hop star Emtee left fans shaken after an emotional Instagram Live session, where he opened up about a series of personal and professional hardships.
During the livestream, the rapper was visibly overwhelmed, tears streaming down his face as he shared the distressing news that he had lost R700,000 in royalties.
According to Emtee, the payments, which date back to around 2022, were processed through a distributor but never reached him.
He briefly posted a statement on Instagram about the missing funds, which he later deleted.
“I just found out that my royalties for the Logan album never came through… R700K just gone,” Emtee said, his voice cracking with emotion.
Clips of the live session quickly circulated across social media platforms, prompting an outpouring of concern and support from fans.
The rapper also revealed struggles on the family front, claiming that a restraining order filed by his ex-wife has prevented him from seeing his children.
He described the situation as a heavy personal blow, with fans highlighting his reputation as a devoted father.
Emtee, known for hits like Roll Up and for carving out an independent path with Hustla Music Group, has faced industry conflicts in the past.
But this recent ordeal has amplified conversations about mental health and the pressures that artists face in the public eye.
Emtee has not issued a formal statement following the Instagram Live, but messages of support continue to flood his social media, with fans urging him to stay strong and reminding him of his impact on South African hip-hop.

Allegedly Emtee’s wife open a restraining order against him then kicked him out of the house so he is not even allowed to see his kids then they stole 700k from his Logan Album royalties he find out last week. Kuningi 😅💔🇿🇦 pic.twitter.com/w8YUSJUn2A
