Rachel Kolisi breaks silence on possibility of stepmother in her children’s lives after Siya Kolisi split

Rachel focuses on her children after split from Siya
Rachel Kolisi is choosing to keep her focus firmly on her children as she navigates life after her separation from Springboks captain Siya Kolisi.
During a candid sit-down on 947 Radio with Anele Mdoda, the author and public speaker was asked a question many in her position quietly grapple with how she would feel about another woman stepping into a maternal role in her children’s lives.
Rather than getting drawn into hypotheticals, Rachel made it clear that her priorities are firmly rooted in motherhood.
“You know, I… I can only parent the best that I can and that is my priority, everything else, none of my business,” she said.
Her response reflects a grounded approach as she adjusts to a new chapter following her split from Siya, whom she was married to for eight years before their separation in October 2024.
Together, the former couple share two children, Nicholas and Keziah, and also raised Siya’s younger siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, whom they adopted as their own.
Rachel also used the interview to reflect on the personal sacrifices she made during their early years as a family. She recalled how, shortly after giving birth to their first child and taking in Siya’s siblings just months later, she made the difficult decision to step away from her career.
Describing the experience as “horrific,” she opened up about the loss of financial independence that followed, revealing that she had to rely on her then-husband for basic personal needs.
Now, as she rebuilds her life, Rachel appears focused on stability and showing up fully for her children, choosing not to be distracted by what the future may hold beyond her role as a mother.
