Natasha Joubert opens up on postpartum struggles after welcoming baby

Former Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert has left many emotional after candidly sharing her experience with postpartum changes, just days after giving birth to her first child.

The 28-year-old, who recently welcomed a baby girl with her husband Enrico Vermaak, took to Instagram to reflect on the unexpected emotional rollercoaster that followed her return home from the hospital.

Having kept followers closely updated throughout her pregnancy, Natasha continued that openness by detailing the early days of motherhood.

She revealed that everything initially felt manageable, driven by excitement and adrenaline.

“The first four days at home, my adrenaline was at an all-time high. Healing didn’t feel difficult at all. I was excited, motivated, ready to do anything,” she wrote.

However, the experience soon shifted, catching her off guard. Natasha shared that she found herself overwhelmed by intense emotions, breaking down in a way she hadn’t anticipated.

“I cried for two days NON-STOP. (never knew so many tears could be cried😂 I could do my salt-sits in them, hahahaha) Enrico was so concerned. And then you get a few good days… even great days… and then the days where you sit there wondering, how did we ever think we were ready to be parents? 😂”

Despite the raw honesty of her post, Natasha made it clear in the comments that she was not seeking sympathy but rather hoping to normalise conversations around postpartum experiences.

“This post isn’t for pity! Promise, I’m feeling great now! But wanted to share for any other momma going to experience this or are going through it!❤️”
