Titled The Trials Of Winnie Mandela, the seven-part series is directed by the late, two-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Mandy Jacobson, known for her impactful storytelling.

The project promises to unpack the complexities, triumphs, and controversies that shaped one of South Africa’s most iconic figures.

What sets the series apart is its intimate narrative lens.

The story is told through the journey of Madikizela-Mandela’s granddaughters, HRH Princess Zaziwe Manaway and HRH Princess Swati Mandela-Dlamini, who also serves as a producer on the project.

Through their exploration, the duo seeks to rediscover and understand the essence of their grandmother beyond public perception.

Executive producers on the project include Ivor Ichikowitz, Jacobson herself, and John Nyoka.
