Toya Delazy appeals for travel support after Podcast and Chill invite
South African musician Toya Delazy, who is currently based in the United Kingdom, reveals she may struggle to travel home for an interview on Podcast and Chill.
Taking to X, the singer shared that she had been invited to appear on the popular podcast but is facing financial challenges linked to international travel costs.
“I’m invited to podcast & chill manje inking is that I’m overseas and Kerosene is so expensive because of the war (I fly home once a year if I’m lucky) – can you guys xhasa the bhanoyi ✈️,” she wrote, asking for assistance with travel arrangements.
She added that while an online appearance is possible, it would not have the same impact as being physically present in studio, urging supporters to consider helping her make the trip.
“Otherwise we doing it online which isn’t the same as being in the studio,” she added.
Beyond the travel request, Toya also reflected on her standing in the music industry, claiming she has been sidelined despite her earlier success.
“I’m Toya Delazy and I was once the biggest artist in Africa, now I’m the most misunderstood artist in Africa,” she wrote.
She further revealed that her upcoming EP is set for release on May 20, noting that she is independently funding the project while continuing to push her music career forward from abroad.
Her comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans showing support while others debated her claims about the industry and her career journey.
