Shekinah has been allegedly dragged to court after refusing to appear for a show in 2019.
The singer is said to be owing the organisers of the Annual Rusty Rocks LoversFest event R100 000 which includes legal and booking fee.
An insider detailed the incident to Zimoja.
“This girl was asked to record a short video and share a poster of the festival on her social media platforms, but she failed to do so. This is after she was paid R75 000 upfront for the booking,” the source says.“Now, she is stuck in this predicament. I’m sure, she spent the money a long time ago.”
Shekhinah has allegedly proven stubborn over the 2-year-old saga.
“He has literally been in talks to reach a consensus with her management for the past two years. Ithink he got tired and decided to take legal action.” the source revealed.
The organiser’s legal team has also reached out to the singer.
“You were required to provide timeously from the date of signing of the agreement to our clients and marketing purposes a video of yourself confirming your participation to the arranged event,” the document reads.
“In breach of the said agreement, you delayed in providing the above mentioned video timeously in that which has affected our clients’ marketing strategies. In addition to the above, your conduct has prejudiced our client to a greater extent leaving him with no choice but to cancel your attendance and incurred further unnecessary costs in recreating the event schedule.”
However, the star has nothing to say in response to the legal saga.
