Dating in today’s time may have become easy but being in a relationship now definitely looks more difficult.
There are so many people who are constantly in need of some validation which has turned into such a toxic behaviour for a lot of reasons.
The Internet knows nothing about your relationship and you still keep expecting the Internet to give you solutions for your problems?
All Instagram-official couples post really adorable pictures on their feed which makes you wonder what went wrong with you.
But the answer is ‘nothing’. Here are some Internet relationship goals that shouldn’t be important to you.
1. Being Instagram-official
Posting photos with your beau on your social media – cute. Forcing your beau or getting mad at your partner if they don’t post photos with you on social media – not cute. You’re letting the Internet take over your life. You need to choose to not make it a milestone moment in your relationship. Not being Instagram-official isn’t going to mean you guys aren’t actually in a relationship, is it?
2. Celebrating anniversaries
Couples always want to celebrate that one special day when they both committed to each other, which is very valid. But wanting to hype it up and market it over the Internet is invalid and how! You’re only going to end up buying materialistic things and benefiting companies for this one special day which should actually be all about you two and not a company’s profit game.
3. Materializing the relationship
Buying gifts for your partner out of good thought is normal. But if you keep buying expensive things only to show it off on your social media is ultimately making a joke out of your relationship. You don’t know how to do a relationship right if it all depends on what goes on the Internet.
4. Considering fighting to be bad
It is very natural for any relationship to have arguments and fights. Just because your favourite Instagram couple doesn’t show it on their social media accounts, doesn’t mean they don’t fight. It’s just that they choose to keep those things private in their lives. Don’t think fighting with your partner is bad. It is only going to strengthen your relationship, if at all.
5. Wanting to find ‘the perfect one’ and not settling for anything less
The Internet has distorted the thought of finding a soulmate who is perfect in all senses. This gives you a wrong notion that you should not waste your time with the wrong person or someone who has less to offer. Just because you have options to choose from, nothing gives you the right to belittle someone else. Take your time to figure out who is right for you, but don’t sit around wanting to ace at finding the right one only.
