Nadia Nakai apologises to DJ Milkshake after calling him out for not promoting new SA hip-hop songs.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the rapper said Mzansi DJs, excluding Ayanda MVP are fond of playing old songs at gigs without playing new drops.
Hours later, she returned to Twitter with an apology note to Milkshake.
She further explained herself and urged hip hop DJs to do better.
“I’m sorry for calling out Milkshake. The reason I did that was because I was with him while he was playing at Members when I asked him, like I always do. If I hurt you, I’m sorry bro! Buuuut it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m not hearing new hiphop drops,” she wrote.
“I’m not the only one that feels that way… I’m not hearing Dee’s new joint, 018, even if you wanna go international I don’t hear F!EN in the club either. I love hip hop man. Shake is bro tho, I got to familiar shouldnt have blasted him on the gram like that.”
Nadia’s tweet garnered reactions as a majority urged her not to apologise.
Don’t fold there’s a lot of SA Bangers like Nasty C No More, Company is club song also, Maglera & 25K have hits also there’s a lot it proves they no longer listen, the main purpose of a DJ is to introduce us to music we didn’t think we need otherwise Jukebox must come back.
