Zahara’s new album Mgodi, released last week has been certified gold. Warner Music South Africa’s marketing director, Adrian King told Times that the album 16,700 physical copies and hundreds of digital copies within the first 24 hours of its release. Zahara is famed for her debut album going triple platinum within few weeks after release.
“We are super excited about this achievement. We know that Zahara is talented and we are confident that her album will soon go platinum and multi-platinum,” he adds.
Zahara has been battling negative press in recent months but must be elated her new album is doing so well in stores. Zahara herself confirmed the album has indeed gone gold on Friday. Mgodi for sure will go platinum this week.
