With the police having announced last week that the extradition process of the two accused in the Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibs’ Motsoane murders, the defence attorneys say they haven’t received any application
Brothers Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande were arrested in Eswatini two weekends ago for the alleged murders of the celebrity friends. The police said they were also wanted for the murder of two other people in Durban between February and March last year. They are part of the seven people arrested since April last year for the murder of the rapper and the chef. Their defence Sivesonke Ngwenya said it’s unfortunate that they have not yet received the comprehensive application (extradition application) which they were expecting by close of business last Friday. “Remember we went to court on Monday, that was the first court date. From there, we received the provisional one and we were still hoping and anticipating that we’ll be served with the comprehensive one. So currently, I think we might, it’s possible to have even a postponement on Tuesday because we don’t want to find ourselves doing what is not appropriate due to local instructions”
Ngwenya said the accused are appearing at the Manzini Magistrates Court tomorrow but the matter is likely to be postponed because he might need more time to consult with his clients. “A meeting has been scheduled to take place today, between the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) in the Kingdom of Eswatini and myself to discuss developments and a way forward. According to court documents. the suspects aged 28 and 29 who had been hiding in a rented flat in Mbabane, were allegedly paid R133,000 each for the hit on AKA. They will face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as money laundering. The other suspects in the matter, Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi (30), Lindani Zenele Ndimande (35), Siyanda Eddie Myeza Myeza (21, Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36), and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande (29) appeared in court last week and their matter was postponed to this Friday for bail verification purposes. KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said that they cannot confirm when the suspects will be extradited into South Africa because this is usually a lengthy process.
