DJ Cleo supports the claim that ‘No talent is the new talent’

DJ Cleo, real name Cleopas Monyepao speaks about the pandemic eating up the entertainment industry in South Africa.

The Radio 2000 DJ was a guest on the latest episode of Mac G’s Podcast and Chill, and he addressed the situation.

Cleo said he is not happy with how people with zero talent are securing more bags than talented artists.

He said the issue is not only in the music industry but also in the acting industry.

“It’s just sad. I saw somewhere on social media that ‘no talent is the new talent’. I’m not talking about female DJs, even in acting, they now go for influencers, and radio — just because you have a big following,” the Tong Po hitmaker said.

“I know many DJs, many … and generally the main, [most] conscientious among us as male DJs are getting outbooked by the influencers.”
