Samthing Soweto’s fans hijack DJ Maphorisa’s set
Samthing Soweto has received a heightened level of support after being exploited by DJ Maphorisa over the Amalanga Awafani song.
The song caused a stir on social media as the music producer discredited the singer on the song despite his contribution.
Samthing expresses his disappointment at the exploitative behaviour of the DJ, and his fans took over from there, as they cancelled Phori till the singer’s vocals were removed from the track.
During a recent show while DJ Maphorisa was performing, the crowd energetically chanted Samthing Soweto.
The video of the moment has gone viral on social media, and garnered reactions from viewers.
