US rapper Busta Rhymes is working on his SA citizenship

Busta Rhymes expresses excitement about his time in South Africa after the DStv Delicious Festival.

Following Janet Jackson’s cancellation, Busta was announced as a headliner alongside other international stars.

The US rapper had a good time as he trended through the week.

In a recent video that has gone viral on social media, Busta Rhymes said he looks forward to returning to South Africa.

He also revealed that he is working on getting his SA citizenship.

“Joburg thanks for having me back. Don’t take so long to bring me back. Blame everybody that took all of this long time not bringing back here. We’re back! We re-established our family and loving relationship of one of Africa’s good sons. Just don’t take too long to take me back. You know what, don’t worry about it, I’m working on my citizenship,” he said in the video.

He appreciates the love, acknowledging he had a swell time; he also thanked the DStv Delicious team for bringing him to SA.

South Africans were buzzing on social media upon hearing the rap star talk about securing his ctitizenship.

While some expressed excitement, others said he is not welcomed.

“As long as he’s not the so called Nigerian American then we don’t have a problem, I personally love African Americans, they’re not entitled and clingy like those insecure scammers from Tibunu’s zoo,” a tweep wrote.

“He can create Jobs. This guy is a Billionaire in South African Rands. He doesn’t do drugs. He is an honest man. Like we welcome wealthy White People. We should welcome him,” another wrote.

“He must go back to the US No mother land what what,” a comment reads.

“Busta is like that child who only goes to the rural areas by December, find it fun and wants to remain main and study there. Only to realise mid year that it’s only fun during December.”
