Emtee not happy with Empire again

South African rapper Emtee, born Mthembeni Ndevu, recently took to social media to express frustration over the delay of his much-anticipated album, DIY 3. In a series of posts, he called out his record label, Empire, shedding light on the struggles he’s faced.

The rapper, who was initially excited about signing with Empire, shared that the partnership has not lived up to his expectations. In one of his most talked-about posts, Emtee compared his time at Empire with his previous label, Ambitiouz Entertainment.

“I’ve been signed to Empire for a whole year now, and I can’t recall a single thing they’ve done for me. I organize my own shows, and when people steal from me, they laugh and say ‘he lost it all.’ No, you stole from me,” he wrote.

He went on to share the emotional toll the delay has had on him, explaining that fans, friends, and family have been eagerly awaiting the album’s release.

“This is the worst time of my life. I can’t post anything without fans asking about the album. Ambitiouz was tough, but at least they didn’t leave me waiting for a whole year without caring.”

Emtee also used the platform to ask for help, emphasizing that he’s not lacking in work ethic—what he needs is a supportive team that won’t take advantage of him.
