Kid X has said he has no regrets about his time with K.O’s Cashtime. Cashtime at a time was the biggest recording label in South Africa and was able to release mega hits that are still relevant today in South African music culture.
Speaking to to DJ Fresh on Fresh Breakfast this week, Kid X said, “My time at Cashtime was actually a foundation, just in terms of where I’m at right now. I spent about five years there and the knowledge and experience that I got there from amagrootman (older brothers) is something that I couldn’t trade for anything else.”
“What we managed to accomplish in that time is that we managed to pinpoint a distinctively South African hip-hop sound,” he adds
