Fitness influencer Sbahle Mpisane has shed light on why she permanently wears a moonboot, a decision tied to the aftermath of the life-altering car accident she survived years ago.
Known for her resilience and active lifestyle, Sbahle candidly shared details about her condition and how the moonboot plays a crucial role in her daily life and long-term health.
Sbahle explained that she wears the moonboot to stabilize her spine. Following the accident, she lost the ankle bone in one of her feet, leaving one leg slightly shorter than the other.
This imbalance creates spinal instability, which could lead to complications if left unaddressed. By wearing the moonboot, she ensures her spine remains aligned and minimizes future health risks.
The fitness enthusiast also shared that strength training and stretching are key to her routine. These activities help her maintain strong core and back muscles while preventing tension in her joints.
Sbahle revealed that she has metals implanted throughout her body, including her face, yet she refuses to let that define her capabilities.
“I can still swim, surf, drive, walk 10 km, skip, and even do splits,” she emphasized, proving her determination to live life fully despite her challenges.
However, she noted that walking without the moonboot, especially on stairs, is uncomfortable due to her missing ankle bone. For her, the moonboot is not just a tool for mobility but a measure to ensure she ages gracefully without unnecessary complications.
Addressing public curiosity, Sbahle expressed frustration with invasive questions about her condition.
While she acknowledges that being a public figure invites scrutiny, she stated that her trauma is a deeply personal matter she prefers not to discuss.
“You should only applaud me for overcoming everything with God’s assistance,” she said, emphasizing her strength and faith in navigating her journey.
