Donell Mbele has been reportedly dropped off Born Into Fame season 2.
The cast of the reality show are kids of Mzansi stars.
As the son of a seasoned actor and producer Sonia Mbele, the 23-year-old secured a spot on the show to share snippets of his life and the challenges of being born in the limelight.
Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to reveal that the young man was dropped as a cast member of the show.
A source close to the production company that produces the show, said to ZiMoja: “The producers felt they would appear as rape apologists if they continued with him on the show. Only when he is proven innocent will he get the opportunity to be part of the show? But it would put the company in a bad light to have someone who is charged with rape on the show.”
Born Into Fame cast includes media personality and host Shamiso Mosaka, the first-born daughter of radio legend and businesswoman Azania Mosaka; actor and musician Phila Madlingozi, son of Ringo Madlingozi, who won a South African Music Award for Male Artist of The Year and is a member of the National Assembly of South Africa; rapper Tank, the first child of DJ Tira; the late Robbie Malinga’s son, social media sensation Robbie Junior; and Arthur Mafokate’s daughter Owamie, who is a DJ.
