Nasty C explains why he put his US ambitions on hold
Nasty C has revealed that his decision to slow down on pursuing the American market was a deliberate one.
When asked if it was intentional, he responded without hesitation: “Yes, it’s intentional. We had to give it a try, we had these ambitions, but then reality kinda just hit you in the face sometimes.”
The rapper admitted that while many artists see the US as the ultimate goal, he realized that focusing too much on that market meant sidelining opportunities elsewhere.
“You kinda realize I shouldn’t be neglecting this one market and chasing this market because it is the one that everyone thinks is the one,” he explained.
After reassessing his strategy, Nasty C and his team decided to concentrate on regions where they already had strong support.
“We took a step back, looked at all the places that we went to and did like our own shows. I think that’s how you test your imprint in the market, you do your own show,” he said, emphasizing how live performances helped them gauge their impact.
He further pointed out that Africa and Europe have proven to be promising markets.
“We did a tour last year there (Europe). It’s crazy,” he shared, hinting at the massive fan reception in those regions.
