Fans not impressed with previewed ‘Biri Marung’ remix featuring Davido
DJ Maphorisa has previewed the remix of Biri Marung, featuring Nigerian superstar Davido.
The original track, released in 2024, became a massive hit, earning the title of Song of the Year on various radio stations and platforms. The song was a collaboration between Tebogo Mashego, Focalistic, Mr Pilato, Scotts Maphuma, and DJ Maphorisa.
Sharing a snippet of the remix on social media, Lawd Phori highlighted Davido’s verse—but it wasn’t well received by fans. Many listeners criticized the Nigerian singer’s contribution, with some urging Maphorisa not to release the remix.
Some of the reactions included:
- “Keep it unreleased, sir… thank you.”
- “Nooo, Davido has literally destroyed the song 💀😭”
- “No, this is nonsense because of Davido.”
- “Davido is going to be on the remix of our national anthem next. Every remix, it’s him.”
- “Can’t they make their own?”
Despite the mixed reactions, Maphorisa has yet to confirm an official release date for the remix.
