LaConco sets the record straight on Jacob Zuma and her new podcast
Nonkanyiso Conco, popularly known as LaConco, has announced her latest venture—a podcast titled Timelines with Conco, set to premiere on Friday, 28 February.
However, the news has sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning whether she has more to offer beyond her past relationship with former president Jacob Zuma.
Despite the chatter, LaConco has built an impressive career. She is a SAFTA-winning TV presenter, producer, and entrepreneur, with businesses including Conco Apparel and Conco Naturals.
Now, she is stepping into the podcasting world, offering candid conversations on topics close to her heart.
In a preview clip for the show, she openly discusses her past romance with Zuma, making it clear that those days are long behind her.
“The romantic spark of being in love with JZ died many years ago. I’m not in love with him,” she revealed.
However, she maintains respect for the 82-year-old MK Party leader and prioritizes their child’s relationship with him.
“At some point, he showed me genuine love. I am making a means for the baby to spend time with him. I was still pregnant when he named him Sakhumuzi. The baby is probably number 30 or 40, so I asked him what he’s been doing for the past 20 years.”
Sharing the teaser online, LaConco emphasized that her approach is about reflection rather than heated reactions.
“I’ve always believed that speaking with a calm and peaceful mind is far better than venting in the heat of the moment,” she wrote.
With the first episode dropping soon on YouTube, all eyes are on LaConco to see what her podcast will bring to the table.
