DJ Sbu remains at Radio 2000
DJ Sbu has had a change of heart days after announcing his resignation from Radio 2000.
The media personality, whose real name is Sbusiso Leope, initially informed fans that he was stepping away from his morning show before his contract’s official end date of March 30, 2025.
In his statement, he reflected on his time at the station, calling it “filled with invaluable experiences, cherished memories, and the joy of connecting with our wonderful audience.”
He also revealed plans to launch a brand-new breakfast show on another platform starting April 1, 2025, describing it as “a fresh chapter” in his career.
However, DJ Sbu later retracted his resignation, announcing that he had reached an agreement to stay.
“I am pleased to let you know that I will be staying with Radio 2000, having concluded an agreement for another 12 months. Keep your ears tuned in to the big breakfast, weekdays 6-9am,” he shared.
Reports suggest his resignation stemmed from a misunderstanding of a letter sent by the station regarding contract renewal negotiations.
Despite the mix-up, fans can expect to hear DJ Sbu on Radio 2000 for another year.
