Calls for the cancellation of Mac G’s podcast grow
Controversial podcast host Mac G has found himself under fire once again following crude remarks he made about media personality Minnie Dlamini in a recent episode of Podcast and Chill.
The episode, released in late April 2025, has ignited widespread backlash after Mac G crudely speculated on the reason behind Dlamini’s split from Dr Brian Monaisa, saying, “Maybe her coochie smells or something… especially with these hot girls.”
The offensive comment was met with immediate outrage across social media platforms, with users condemning Mac G for what many described as misogynistic and disrespectful behavior.
Moja Love strongly criticized the statement, branding it inappropriate and unacceptable.
ANC MP Khusela Diko also weighed in, calling for more robust regulation of podcasting platforms to prevent the normalization of degrading commentary.
Industry figures didn’t hold back either – Media veteran Penny Lebyane and Dr Monaisa both publicly denounced Mac G and his co-host Sol Phenduka, accusing them of perpetuating harmful narratives that demean women.
While Dlamini did not address the insult directly, she posted on TikTok and X with a clear message about her autonomy, implying she refuses to be defined by relationships or public speculation.
This incident has reignited longstanding criticism of Podcast and Chill, a show that has repeatedly drawn fire for disparaging comments made about several high-profile women, including Amanda du Pont and Nkosazana Daughter.
As calls to cancel the show gain momentum, Mac G has doubled down rather than offering an apology — using his platform to promote his book, Uncancelable, on X, further fueling the controversy.
