Nigerian men beat 2 SA women over alleged theft
A disturbing video has surfaced online showing two young South African women being assaulted by a group of Nigerian men after an alleged theft attempt.
In the footage, which has spread rapidly across social media, the women are seen being struck with a belt and slapped multiple times inside what appears to be the men’s residence.
The specific items the women were accused of stealing were not revealed, but their faces were clearly visible in the clip.
The incident has triggered heated online debate, while some condemned the violence, others used it to reignite long-standing tensions between South Africans and Nigerians.
One X user wrote: “Imagine a refugee hitting you like this in your own country! South African women deserve everything coming to them. They made their beds, now they must lie in them. You are free to choose but you are not free from the consequences.”
Another commented: “If you don’t discipline your women, we will help you.”
However, not all reactions sided with the attackers.
One user criticised the men’s actions, saying: “Why steal just to be a baddie? Sigh… those guys need to be arrested, you don’t hurt a woman this way.”
