Cici not happy after Nandi Nyembe’s death
Cici mourns the passing of the legendary star Nandi Nyembe.
The veteran actress passed away at the age of 75 on Saturday.
Nandi’s passing left lots of hearts shattered as the family revealed that she didn’t receive all the promised funds.
The Generation star’s death sparked conversation around the welfare of creatives, especially the aged.
Taking to social media, singer Cici also expressed her hurt as she mourns the legend.
“I’ll tell you whats more painful than death, it is dedicating your life to your work but when the final curtain call comes you have nothing to show for it. Creatives really need to be treated better especially actors. 💔💔. How long shall it be. Rest in peace Mama,” she wrote.
Cici’s post garnered reactions from other actors and fans.
Actor Atandwa Kani wrote, “The South African arts industry should be fucking ashamed of itself to let this happen.. No royalties, no syndication fees, no UIF, no recognition, no dignity! It’s disgusting! There’s no respect for those who made this industry to be what and where it is! MXIM! I’m tired!!”
