Hip-hop legend Kanye West, now officially known as YE, has set South Africa alight with excitement after confirming that he will perform live in Johannesburg later this year.

The rapper announced on X that he will take the stage at Ellis Park Stadium on 13 December 2025, marking his only performance on the African continent for the year.

His announcement poster, shared in his trademark avant-garde style, simply read:

“YE Live in South Africa, Johannesburg, 13 December 2025 Only Performance in South Africa. Pre-register for tickets: Ticketpro.co.za”

Within hours, the post drew more than 20,000 views, sparking a wave of memes, excitement, and panic from fans who fear tickets will sell out instantly.

YE confirmed that pre-registration is open on Ticketpro.co.za, with further updates to come from event partners Monyake Group and Ellis Park Stadium.

This will be YE’s first major appearance in South Africa in years, and with the concert billed as his only African date for 2025, insiders are already predicting a record-breaking ticket rush.
