Priddy Ugly calls out Apple Music over sound quality concerns
Rapper Priddy Ugly has taken to social media to voice his concerns about Apple Music’s sound quality.
He suggested that the platform may be compressing or lowering the volume of music uploads.
In a series of tweets, the hip hop star shared his frustration: “What’s up with @AppleMusic compressing and attenuating the master?”
He explained that the issue wasn’t limited to his own work.
“I’m not just talking about my music, I noticed that some albums I played sounded a bit low. I thought people had poorly mixed & mastered their music. Then I played my album from my documents folder & played it on Apple Music & the levels on the streaming platform were substantially lower.”
His comments sparked reactions among fans, with some agreeing that streaming platforms often adjust audio levels, while others suggested it may be linked to loudness normalization practices used to standardize playback across different tracks.
