Lerato Nxumalo celebrates 200K YouTube subscribers, shares excitement over Netflix role
Actress and digital creator Lerato Nxumalo is beaming with gratitude as she celebrates a major milestone, reaching 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
Taking to Instagram, Lerato shared her joy with fans, revealing that she’s been meaning to mark the achievement since late September but had been caught up with wedding planning, campaign deadlines, and staying active online.
“I’ve been meaning to celebrate this milestone since the 28th of September but between wedding planning, campaign deadlines and trying to stay consistent online, I just never got around to it. Then I realized… if I don’t celebrate now, I might never do it. So here we are ❤️,” she wrote.
The content creator added a touch of humor, explaining how she improvised for her photo shoot when the letter “K” in her celebratory balloon set was out of stock.
“When I went to get the balloons, the ‘K’ was out of stock 😩 but thanks to Instagram’s cutout option, I cut out the K from my previous 60K celebratory post and made it work — because what’s 200 without the K? 😂”
Lerato also thanked her supporters and YouTube for their recognition of African creators, writing:
“We’ve already grown past 200K in just two weeks 🥺 and I’m honestly so so grateful. Thank you to everyone who watches, supports and believes in my channel. Your love means everything to me. Big thank you to @google @youtubeafrica @youtube for continuously recognising and rewarding African creators, it truly makes a difference ❤️.”
In the same post, the Durban Gen star shared her excitement about her latest project, revealing that she landed a part in Netflix South Africa’s new series, Bad Influencer.
“Also super excited and grateful to share a special part I got to play in @netflixsa’s Bad Influencer! When God opens a door, no matter how small, walk through it with faith. This was such a full-circle moment for me.”
Lerato invited fans to join her for the Bad Influencer TikTok Live hybrid event happening on Thursday, 16 October, at Nelson Mandela Square, adding that the event will also be streamed live on TikTok.
