Ntsiki Mazwai claims Nicki Minaj copied her album cover

Ntsiki Mazwai calls out Nicki Minaj for stealing her album cover
Ntsiki Mazwai has stirred up a fiery conversation on X (formerly Twitter) after accusing international rap superstar Nicki Minaj of copying her album cover.
The poet and musician posted a side-by-side comparison of her artwork and Nicki’s, claiming the resemblance was not a coincidence.
In her tweet, Ntsiki wrote: “I will never forget how she copied my album cover and then the system changed my release dates to try hide it and make it seem like I was inspired by her. Kanti luckily I had a launch that is on YouTube with the correct date.”
Her complaint instantly drew mixed reactions, with many users weighing in, some laughing it off, others openly challenging her claim.
One commenter dismissed the comparison entirely, saying: “Weeeh she doesn’t even know you. Don’t play that game with Nicki. The covers are different, no similarities there… she’s on a dry branch of a tree.”
Another user added a harsher jab: “It’s been an hour trying to figure out what she copied here. Also shocked to learn that you are an artist.”
Despite the backlash, Ntsiki stood firm and responded directly to her critics.
She fired back with: “Ufuna ukuthi this was a coincidence? You think Americans don’t watch South Africans for inspiration?? Really?”
