American rapper DDG says Nigeria doesn’t want him as he announces South Africa trip

American rapper and YouTuber DDG

DDG has set social media buzzing after announcing plans to visit South Africa while suggesting that Nigeria may not want him.

The American rapper and YouTuber made the comment in a video that quickly circulated online, sparking confusion and backlash across different platforms.

In the clip, DDG claimed he was switching destinations after feeling unwelcome.

“We are going to South Africa, Nigeria I understand y’all don’t want me there, you got it, I don’t wanna go nowhere I’m not wanted.”

His statement immediately triggered reactions from users in both Nigeria and South Africa, with many questioning what led him to believe either country had rejected or invited him in the first place.

What started as a casual remark quickly turned into a heated online discussion.

Some users were blunt in their responses, dismissing the idea that he was ever wanted.

One commenter wrote, “Who said we want him here??? He must go to Malawi, they will be happy to host pretty much anybody.”

South African users were equally vocal, with one saying, “I speak for all South Africans when I say we don’t want him too, we are not his second options here.”

Others tied the backlash to DDG’s past controversies, particularly his public relationship drama with Halle Bailey.

“In SA we stand with Halle. Please he can go try Malawi,” one user commented.

Another reaction read, “What makes him think we want him in South Africa!? Not after embarrassing our first black mermaid, in fact we don’t want him anywhere in Africa.”
