Felix Hlophe releases statement to address abuse allegations

Gagasi FM breakfast host Felix Hlophe has publicly responded to recent social media allegations concerning his private life.

The radio personality confirmed that he is aware of posts made by an associate of his wife and has sought guidance from his legal team regarding the matter.

Hlophe explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday, following the circulation of information about his family.

According to him, his wife accepted an invitation from a friend to spend time away with their children. He later went to collect his wife and children, accompanied by his mother-in-law.

“During this interaction, emotions ran high on all sides and an unfortunate confrontation took place, but there was no physical violence,” Hlophe stated.

He also addressed video clips circulating online, noting that they do not capture the full context and only show a partial version of events.

Security personnel and police were called as a precaution, with both expressing concern over insults directed at his mother-in-law. No arrests were made.

Despite the tension, Hlophe said his wife and children returned home safely, and the family, including his mother-in-law, was able to spend Christmas together peacefully.

“I would like to thank everyone who has reached out with messages of concern and support. I can confirm that there is order, and my family is on good terms,” he added.

He emphasised that he and his wife Tracy are focused on peace, respect, and unity, choosing to handle personal matters privately and with dignity.

Hlophe concluded by wishing South Africans a “safe and joyful festive season.”
