Babalwa M pulls out of Itsoseng show over unmet alcohol demands

Babalwa M disappoints fans over alcohol
Singer Babalwa M failed to take the stage at the Itsoseng Delicious Event after a dispute over performance riders, leaving attendees disappointed and organisers forced to issue an apology.
The incident unfolded after the artist reportedly requested additional items that were not part of the original agreement.
According to a statement released by event management, Babalwa M demanded two bottles of Veuve shortly before her performance.
The organisers said this request was not included in the initial contract.
They further explained that all agreed-upon hospitality had already been provided, including Hennessy VS and Hennessy VSOP, as specified in the performance rider.
Despite this, the artist allegedly refused to perform once the additional request could not be met.
As a result, the organisers confirmed that her set was cancelled and extended an apology to patrons and supporters who had been looking forward to her appearance.
The matter quickly gained traction on social media, where X users shared mixed reactions.
Some were critical of the singer’s decision, with one user commenting, “Is this a joke?😭😭 forfeiting a performance because of alcohol 🍻🍺 yho we are in the gutter as a nation.”
Others took a more neutral stance, pointing out that the situation may have been handled fairly.
One user wrote, “Ya but she gave back the booking fee so it’s fine,” while another questioned the breakdown between both parties, asking, “So the promoter was willing to let her go because of two bottles of veuve?”.
