BBMzansi fans rally behind Cia Morata as family opens donations after emotional exit
Big Brother Mzansi viewers and Marcia “Cia” Morata’s family have sparked widespread conversation online after appealing for donations following her early exit from the reality show.
Cia, an educator and the first housemate to leave Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa this season, exited the house after raising concerns about her emotional and mental wellbeing.
Her departure prompted an outpouring of reactions from fans, with some choosing to show support through financial contributions.
Over the weekend, Morata’s banking details began circulating on social media after they were shared by family members and supporters.
Big Brother Mzansi had earlier confirmed her exit in an official statement, saying: “Marcia ‘Cia’ Morata has left the ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ Bazozwa house. She is the first housemate to exit the show since the season began on Sunday, 11 January 2026.”
On Saturday, 17 January 2026, BBMzansi fan @SlungileMbatha revealed on X that Cia’s brother had shared her bank details to allow well-wishers to contribute.
“I have spoken to her brother, our beautiful sister has been hospitalised due to anxiety and the mental breakdown she has. If you have something to drop to show her some love, please see the bank details below,” he wrote.
Cia’s brother, Matila Moswana, also took to Facebook to echo the appeal, stressing that donations were voluntary.
“For those who would like to give something, you can send it here; every cent counts. A se force friends ke out of love and support,” he posted, adding that no one was obligated to donate.
The move divided opinion online. Some fans welcomed the initiative and praised the family for being transparent, while others questioned the need for donations.
One user, @RataNnete, commented, “She’ll be fine, donation ke tsa eng yanong? She has medical aid; she’s a teacher.”
Responding to the criticism, @SlungileMbatha clarified that the appeal was not necessarily about covering medical bills.
“I think my tweets are very clear, so if it’s not your cup of tea, you just move. We are different as humans, and we will always see things differently. My tweet never suggested that it was for medical bills. I said, ‘let’s show her some love’. Those who understand are doing so.”
