Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams has publicly apologised to her former friend Beverly Steyn, finally addressing the long-running controversy around money she allegedly borrowed and failed to repay.
Nonku admitted that she was wrong and took responsibility for not paying back the thousands of rands she received from Beverly, which were reportedly used to prevent her home from being repossessed and to cover her children’s school fees.
Speaking candidly, the reality TV star shared that financial and personal pressures contributed to the situation.
“Being a single mom can be tough at times,” she said, before acknowledging her mistake. “I had every intention of paying her back in full… I’m asking for grace. I’m human. I’m a single mom. I’m doing the best I can even when I fall short.”
In a lengthy caption accompanying her post, Nonku explained why she chose to address the issue publicly instead of taking a legal route.
She said the decision came after seeking advice from her partner and close friends, emphasising her desire to be honest and transparent.
“It’s time for me to speak my truth. While I could have approached this legally, I chose instead to seek guidance from my partner and the friends who truly care about me,” she wrote. “I want to share the whole truth with you and speak from the heart, as openly and authentically as possible. I hope you can feel and see that.”
