South African singer Makhadzi cleared to return to work after accident scare

Makhadzi returns to work after surviving accident

South African music star Makhadzi has officially been cleared to return to work following her recent accident, her management has confirmed.

In a statement released by Makhadzi Entertainment, the award-winning performer was given the green light by doctors on Friday, 13 February 2026, after attending a medical check-up in Polokwane.

Medical professionals expressed satisfaction with her progress, confirming that she has recovered well and is fit to resume her busy schedule.

The singer, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, also shared a heartfelt message of gratitude to those who supported her during her recovery.

“I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members, the nurses, and the doctors from Netcare Pholosho in Polokwane for taking care of me from day one. I would also like to thank the Minister of Sport, Mr Gayton Mackenzie; Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba and her executive; Polokwane Mayor Cllr John Mpe; my family; my mother and my father; my team; fellow artists; the AFRIMA’s; Munguambe Foundation and all my followers for all the prayers and messages of support,” she said.

While focusing on her health, Makhadzi has also been channeling her energy into the studio.

Her team revealed that she has been recording new music during her recovery period, with fresh releases expected soon.

Preparations are already underway for her highly anticipated comeback show, scheduled to take place at Fountains in Pretoria on 1 May 2026.

With her doctors satisfied with her recovery, Makhadzi is now officially available for bookings as she resumes her performance calendar.
