Fourth suspect hands himself over in murder of e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat

The net is closing in on those accused of killing 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat after a fourth suspect surrendered to police in Atteridgeville on Monday afternoon.

Police confirmed that the man handed himself over and is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where he will face charges of murder and car hijacking.

He joins three co-accused already behind bars, Dikeledi Tears Mphela (24), Goitsione Machidi (25) and McLaren Mushwana (30).

The trio appeared in court on Monday morning, where they abandoned their bail application.

The matter was postponed to 23 February 2026 to allow for further investigations.

Satlat, an engineering student who was working as an e-hailing driver, was strangled on 11 February after responding to a trip request in Pretoria West.

His body and hijacked vehicle were later discovered in Atteridgeville.

Dashcam footage linked to the attack, allegedly showing a woman and two men assaulting the driver, circulated widely on social media and triggered national outrage.

As the legal process unfolds, Satlat’s grieving family is raising funds to repatriate his remains to Nigeria for burial.
