Sbahle Mpisane claps back at moonboot trolls, reflects on surviving near-fatal 2018 crash
Fitness influencer and reality TV personality Sbahle Mpisane has addressed ongoing criticism about her wearing a moonboot years after surviving a devastating car accident in 2018.
Taking to Instagram, Mpisane shared screenshots of social media posts in which some users questioned and mocked her for continuing to wear the medical boot.
The star, who sustained severe injuries in the crash, used the moment to reflect on her journey and shut down the negativity.
“It’s truly saddening that people always seem to have something negative to say. Am I supposed to be ungrateful for surviving, considering that only death could have freed me from trauma, negativity, and my permanent injury?” she wrote.
Mpisane reminded followers that her recovery was anything but simple. She revealed that she was fortunate to avoid amputation, describing the procedure that saved her leg as both costly and life-changing.
“Many can’t say the same, but I’m very fortunate that my leg didn’t have to be amputated. It was a costly procedure, and I’m blessed to have 2 feet and 10 toes today. I had to learn how to walk two years after my accident and adopt a life with amnesia,” she shared.
The influencer added that while she may appear strong on the outside, her journey has been filled with challenges.
She questioned why her moonboot continues to attract negative commentary on nearly every post.
“I may not look like my problems, but my life hasn’t been easy, and your negative comments only highlight your disappointment in my resilience. It seems people find joy in others’ misfortunes. Every post attracts negative comments about my Moonboot. Why?”
Concluding her message on a defiant note, Mpisane made it clear she refuses to apologise for surviving and prioritising her healing.
“Surviving is not something I will apologize for. I’m a warrior. Be inspired.”
