Lady Du shows off new Mercedes Benz as she celebrates legal victory
South African amapiano star Lady Du has revealed that she has finally won a legal battle that kept her from releasing music for nearly three years.
The singer shared the update with fans on social media, posting a video showing off her new Mercedes-Benz while opening up about the difficult period she faced in her career.
According to the musician, the situation stemmed from a dispute with her former manager that prevented her from accessing and releasing her own work.
In the caption accompanying the video, Lady Du explained that the lengthy legal fight had come to an end, giving her the freedom to return fully to her music.
“I won my case after almost 3 years of not releasing music, I was in music prison with someone that locked me out of my own things,” she wrote.
The singer expressed relief that the ordeal is now behind her, saying she no longer has to spend money dealing with legal disputes and management conflicts.
“If you see me buying things, it’s because I no longer have to deal with lawyers and artist issues!!!!!!!” she added.
Lady Du also used the moment to announce that new music is on the way, urging fans to support her upcoming release.
She said the encouragement from supporters would help prove that her success does not depend on her former manager.
“I need all the support I can get from you guys to show my ex manager that he didn’t make me,” she said.
