Lamiez reflects on emotional birth experience as son Leano-Laone turns three

DJ Lamiez’s son turns 3
South African DJ Lamiez Holworthy took a heartfelt trip down memory lane as she celebrated her son’s third birthday, sharing an emotional reflection about the day he was born.
The media personality revealed that she recently watched the raw, unedited footage from the day she gave birth to her son, Leano-Laone Zion Morule, for the first time; the experience left her overwhelmed with emotion.
“Today is the first time I watched the raw unedited version of my birth video and I cried,” she shared.
According to Holworthy, the moment stirred deep feelings of disbelief and gratitude, particularly because she once feared she might never have children after experiencing a miscarriage.
“I cried in disbelief. I cried because till this day I still do not feel worthy of a blessing as big as Leano-Laone,” she wrote.
She explained that after her previous loss, she had subconsciously convinced herself that having a child might not be possible.
However, everything changed on her 30th birthday when she discovered she was pregnant.
Reflecting on the day her son arrived, Holworthy opened up about the anxiety she felt moments before undergoing a C-section.
She recalled feeling terrified after being told that a catheter would need to be inserted before the procedure.
“Three years ago, I was in my hospital room, terrified because I had just been told about something called a catheter that needed to be inserted before my C-section,” she said.
The DJ also described the fear she experienced when doctors prepared to administer the epidural, admitting that despite her many tattoos, she is actually afraid of injections.
“Throw in the epidural which I needed to sit still for whilst I got huge needles injected into my spine and yes, I am terrified of injections,” she explained.
Holworthy revealed that she even suffered a panic attack shortly before the operation, struggling to breathe as she worried whether doctors would deliver her baby safely in time.
During the tense moment, her husband, hip-hop artist Khuli Chana, stood by her side and reassured her that everything would be okay.
Despite the fear and uncertainty, the emotional moment she finally saw her baby boy made everything worthwhile.
“I finally got to see my answered prayer for the first time just after 10am,” she wrote.
Looking back, Holworthy said becoming a mother remains one of the greatest blessings in her life.
She proudly described her son as “the smartest, bravest and funniest little guy” she knows.
She also shared the special meaning behind his name, explaining that it symbolises the fulfilment of a promise.
“We named him that because God kept His promise,” she said, adding that his birth represents a powerful reminder of faith and divine grace.
