Blxckie fires back after DJ Speedsta calls his new song “average”

DJ Speedsta trolls Blxckie’s new music
Tensions between South African rapper Blxckie and hip-hop DJ DJ Speedsta have flared up again after a fresh exchange on social media sparked debate among fans.
The latest clash began after Blxckie released the song Trappin with K1llbrady.
Shortly after the track dropped, Speedsta took to X (formerly Twitter) where he appeared to throw shade at the release while promoting his own project.
“Good Morning! Dropping an average Trap song on the same day The Big Boss drop his deluxe is crazy business! Just an opinion! Wishing you all a blessed weekend! Link on the radio on Sunday evening! Podcast on Monday at 6 pm!” he wrote.
The comment quickly caught the attention of Blxckie, who did not hold back in his response.
The rapper shared a mocking AI-generated image of Speedsta in underwear and accompanied it with a harsh caption, escalating the already tense rivalry between the two.
The online back-and-forth soon divided fans, with many stepping in to defend Blxckie while criticising Speedsta’s remarks.
One user, @lloyd_mazubane, even declared they would stop tuning into Speedsta’s podcast.
“I’m sorry I can’t listen to someone talk nonsense about uSomyama just to trend, drop a hit record instead of talking bad about people who constantly drop music,” the fan wrote.
Another supporter questioned Speedsta’s chart performance, asking: “When last did MkhuluSpeed Limit hit number 1 in South African Hip Hop on Apple Charts?”
The drama also drew the attention of controversial music figure Nota Baloyi, who stepped in and urged Blxckie to tone down his language while hinting that he would attempt to mediate between the two artists.
“Hayi Sihle. You don’t use such foul language, khuzeka, did you forget you’re from uMlazi? Kwanele manje! You can’t let mkhul Speedo speak like this and then khuza me. He must go and talk smack to someone else, not me,” he said.
