Dumisani Dlamini claims he was escorted out of his daughter Doja Cat’s recent concert in Pretoria, despite allegedly purchasing his own ticket to attend the event.

The actor shared a video of himself outside the venue, explaining that he had been stopped by management and asked to leave.

According to him, the situation unfolded unexpectedly after he had already made plans to watch the performance.

“I’ve been told by management that I mustn’t come and see the show. And now I am going with security. They are kicking me out of the place. They are saying that I am not allowed to come and see my daughter,” he said while recording the moment.

The concert, which marked Doja Cat’s first major performance in South Africa, took place at the SunBet Arena as part of the Global Citizen Move Afrika tour.

The show had already drawn attention due to ongoing tensions between the singer and her father.

Dlamini also disputed claims that he had been invited to the show, insisting he paid his own way.

“I’ve paid the money for the tickets. No one offered me. I bought the tickets myself,” he said, adding that organisers later offered to refund him.

His version of events contradicts earlier comments from Doja Cat, who had suggested that her father chose not to attend.

In a TikTok post shared days before the concert, she claimed she had reached out in hopes of seeing him during her visit, but he declined.

“He said that he couldn’t make it to my show because I don’t message him enough and call him on WhatsApp,” she said.

The incident has dashed hopes among fans who believed the long-standing rift between father and daughter might finally be resolved during her trip.
