Sizwe Dhlomo warns Kelvin Momo against missing shows
Media personality Sizwe Dhlomo has weighed in on the growing concerns around Kelvin Momo’s repeated no-shows at events, cautioning that the situation could have serious consequences.
Taking to X, Dhlomo didn’t hold back as he reacted to the DJ’s recent string of missed performances.
“Someone should warn Kelvin Momo. Some promoters don’t play that. It’s a very dangerous game he’s playing. A missed gig is not just about the money you’re paid, people commit millions to their events,” he wrote.

His comments come just days after Kelvin Momo missed a scheduled appearance at the Mamalisa event in Polokwane, sparking frustration among fans and organisers.
In a statement released at the time, the DJ’s team explained that the absence was due to unexpected fuel shortages.
“Dear Fans and Stakeholders, we would like to extend our heartfelt apologies to all stakeholders, fans, and everyone who was looking forward to seeing Kelvin Momo perform at the Mamalisa event in Polokwane,” the statement read.
The team detailed how multiple attempts were made to secure diesel ahead of the trip, including visits to several petrol stations, but all efforts proved unsuccessful.
“Unfortunately, Kelvin Momo was unable to attend due to unforeseen fuel shortages. Despite efforts by him and his team who visited multiple petrol stations, they were unable to secure diesel in time, and ultimately had to make the difficult decision to return home.”
Event organisers also issued an apology, assuring attendees that they are working on securing a new date for the DJ’s performance.
While the explanation drew some sympathy, repeated no-shows have started raising eyebrows within the industry, with Dhlomo’s warning highlighting the high stakes involved when artists fail to honour bookings.
