Lamiez Holworthy’s wedding day
Lamiez Holworthy gave fans a glimpse into her wedding day while opening up about her personal journey, culture, and the people who shaped her life.
The popular DJ took to social media to share stunning photos from her big day, revealing that every detail of her look was deeply intentional.
Raised in a multicultural household, Lamiez explained that it was important for her wedding to reflect both sides of her heritage.
“For someone who grew up in a cross cultured family… it was extremely important that I embraced both my mom and my biological father who is Tsonga’s cultures,” she wrote.
She credited designer Orapeleng Modutle for bringing her vision to life, saying he made her feel like “a modern Black Disney Princess” on her special day.
Beyond the glamour, Lamiez used the moment to reflect on her upbringing and identity struggles.
She shared that growing up as the only Black child in her community often left her feeling out of place, but her mother stood firmly by her side.
“One where I knew I did not belong but my mom? See my mother fought for me, she CHOSE me over and over again even if it meant losing her own family and for that I will forever honour her,” she said.
The emotional tribute also extended to her father, who played a meaningful role at the wedding. Lamiez revealed that both her parents walked her down the aisle, a moment she clearly holds close.
“Then there’s my dad… I am so grateful that we get to experience each other’s genuine love now,” she added, joking that she has since become such a “daddy’s girl” that it sometimes makes her mom jealous.
She ended her message on a spiritual note, reflecting on fate and faith: “And if ever you needed a time to believe that we choose but GOD decides, I hope this is it. Badimo ba kogae made sure of it.”
