Anele Mdoda reportedly pays R90,000 after ex-employee wins CCMA dispute
Anele Mdoda makes headlines following reports that a former domestic worker successfully took her to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) over claims of unfair dismissal.
According to reports, Thuleleni Florence Mlalazi, who previously worked for Mdoda, filed a case citing unfair treatment and a dispute linked to both her dismissal and a vehicle arrangement during her employment.
The matter was eventually settled, with Mdoda agreeing to pay R90,000.
It is alleged that the agreement was reached in August 2025, with an initial payment of R20,000 made upfront, while the remaining balance was to be paid off in instalments.
The dispute reportedly stems from a series of disagreements between the two parties.
Mlalazi claimed she was dismissed after failing to fetch Mdoda’s child from a soccer event on her day off, although she later went to collect the child.
The situation was further complicated by a car arrangement; Mlalazi alleged that she had initially owned a vehicle before her employment but was later persuaded to trade it in for another car, with monthly deductions taken from her salary.
She claimed the vehicle was eventually changed again and registered under Mdoda’s name without her consent, leading to further conflict.
Reports also suggest that Bonelela Buzza James, Mdoda’s husband, was involved in the dismissal decision.
Despite the outcome at the CCMA, Mdoda has reportedly disputed the claims, accusing her former employee of misconduct, including allegations of theft, extortion and threats.
She maintains that the dismissal was justified.
